MotoSurf 2010 Aug 21-22

I ran into an old friend, Chris Kretzer, at the surfing slideshow last weekend and he told me about a cross-over surf competition he is organizing: MotoSurf 2010. In a nutshell, teams of two compete in motocross one day, and surfing the other. They plan for 40 two-man teams. Check 'em out on facebook under MOTO/Surf Competition .

Saturday 10 July report and prediction

Saturday 10 July 2010

Sorry for the lack up a recent update; I have been sick as a dog and basically offline for a while.

Report: Some ESE windswell in the waist+ range and semi-clean with sideshore/slightly offshore S-SSW winds.

Prediction: The wind angle could improve if/when T-storms roll through later today. Consider the tides; higher tides will surely swamp this swell as it is neither big nor that powerful. Continued ESE windswell for Sunday with variable winds: currently looking like sideshore NW early and settling into a more Westerly angle later in the morning or early afternoon. Beware a possibe windshift to the S-SSE in the afternoon as things heat up. Monitor sources of local weather information for up-to-date wind forecasts.

Extended Forecast: The swell could peek into Monday, with offshore winds currently predicted for early AM, going sideshore S-SSE as things heat up. Potential new round of building windswell for mid-week. Check back late weekend/early work-week for an update.
