Sam Hammer wins Unsound Pro

Sam Hammer just won the Usound Pro in NY. So far, online coverage/photos/video of the event have been sparse, but I'll update if anything gets posted.

There is one shot of Sam at the event at http://www.localswell.com/ main page . More photos/video of the event will most likely get posted there.

EDIT: Good coverage of the event and his win at Surfline:

MORE Belmar Pro pics

Jonathan Eng posted some more sick shots of the Belmar Pro. Check them at:

http://www.jonathan-eng.com/belmarprosite/belmarpro.htm

Hint: The first pic of the day 3 page pushes the thumbnails too low to access them on my browser, but there are navigation icons in faint gray at the bottom right corner of the window, so you can still get past # and see the rest.

TS Gabrielle photos from FL

TS Gabrielle might have more-or-less given us the cold-shoulder surf-wise, but it looks like Florida got the goods. Ex-Jersey boy Doug Acker, now a Sunshine State-er, was in Southern Brevard County shootin' away. Check out his work at: http://www.flsurfer.com/brevard9907/

Belmar Pro video and photos

Nick Scobeyville was on-site filming the Belmar Pro surf contest this past weekend and posted a solid clip of it to his myspace page. I thought it was worth plugging here. Check it out at:

Alex Riviera was there too, shooting photos that can be seen at: http://jerseysurfvideo.com/BelmarRivera/

Manasquan Classic Longboard competition Sunday, Sept. 9th

A message from the NJ Chapter of Surfrider Foundation:

On Sunday, Sept. 9th, we will yet again pay homage to the sport of kings at the Manasquan Classic! This is a rain or shine event... and no hurricane date either! There are divisions for everyone and, as always, the ONLY rules are contestants must ride a pre-1967 longboard (3'' overhead), no leashes and no complaints - pretty much anything goes because it''s all about the aloha!

Check-in begins at 7:00am, first heat at 8:00am. Qualifying boards will be available for use, so come on down - entry fee is only $35, which includes a contest t-shirt and the chance to win bragging rights over your buds! Net proceeds go to the Surfrider Foundation''s Jersey Shore Chapter.

Entry forms can be downloaded from http://www.surfriderjsc.org/
